The KBS Gayo Festival will happen on the 30th, but it seems like YG fans won't be seeing their favorite celebrities on the show because the producer of the Gayo Festival has revealed that YG artists will not be attending the festival.
The producer said, "YG Entertainment has told us they won't be attending the Gayo Festival. I don't understand why, as they've attended other end-of-the-year ceremonies and have gotten awards. They said that 2NE1's concept and the Gayo Festival's concept does not fit well, and if they have concluded that then we cannot say anything. On our side, we don't want to pressure any artists that do not want to perform, and we will do without them."
The KBS Gayo Festival invites the top 20 artists of the year according to the K-Chart. 2NE1 was the only YG Entertainment celebrity invited, meaning Taeyang and Se7en had not made it to top 20. The producer explained, "YG Entertainment was not informed that only 2NE1 was invited, so it's not that they were upset that Taeyang and Se7en weren't invited. I just don't understand. We're very fair. SM Entertainment's BoA didn't make it, so we have not invited her either, but SM Entertainment did not have a problem with that. I just hope everyone can enjoy our show."
