CL performs the edited version of 'MTBD' in Dallas

CL and her staff seem to have recognized her mistake.

CL had gone under fire after using the unedited "MTBD" track during her Los Angeles show during her "Hello Bi+ches" tour in USA. When she released her solo track "MTBD" back in 2014, the song had become highly controversial when Muslims noticed that the background track sounded very much like a reading of a verse from the Quran. As the Quran is the central text of Islam, Muslims protested that it is extremely offensive and it should not be made light of by being put in a song or used for entertainment purposes of any form.

The Korea Muslim Federation had raised a formal complaint, and YG Entertainment had ultimately decided to take out the controversial part of the song out. However, the unedited track somehow made its way into her setlist during the Los Angeles show.

While she has not issued an explanation or made an apology, she and her staff did correct the issue right away. For her Dallas show (held just a few hours ago), she performed the edited "MTBD" track.

On October 26th, Park Bom updated her personal account once more and alerted fans of her recent visit to Moomin Cafe. BLACKPINK and TWICE’s overlapping promotions draw comparison to 2NE1 vs Girls Generation

With BLACKPINK‘s comeback confirmed for the 1st of November, their likely overlapping promotions with TWICE has drawn comparison to two well-known girl groups in K-Pop.

2009 was one of the most exciting and competitive time for fans as two of South Korea’s top girl groups underwent promotions at the same time: Girls’ Generation and 2NE1.

On June 29, 2009, Girls’ Generation dropped their 2nd mini-album Tell Me Your Wish (Genie), which spawned the hit track “Genie.” It went on to win two Inkigayo awards and once on Music Bank during their promotions between June 26, 2009 and August 15, 2009.

About a week later, 2NE1 began promotion of their third single “I Don’t Care” in early July 2009. Promotions for the track continued on until September in which they won five trophies on Music Bank, three on Inkigayo, and four on M! Countdown.

Due to their overlapping promotions and popularity even at the time, the two girl groups inevitably went head-to-head on weekly music shows for the #1 spot — three times on Music Bank. And each time, 2NE1 pushed ahead for #1 by the smallest margin in points.
Currently, JYP Entertainment‘s girl group TWICE has been confirmed for a comeback this month set for October 24th with their mini-album TWICEcoaster. TWICE has experienced high popularity this year, especially after releasing “Cheer Up,” which took the #1 for nearly a month on the digital charts in March.

YG Entertainment‘s newest girl group BLACKPINK also showed popularity and success on the charts with their debut this August, dropping the tracks “Boombayah” and “Whistle,” achieving all-kills with their songs as well. They have also recently confirmed a comeback with an album set to drop a little over a week after TWICE on November 1st.

And so, fans are awaiting and on the edge of their seats for the results of the upcoming TWICE vs BLACKPINK competition on the digital charts and music shows, comparing it heavily to the Girls’ Generation vs 2NE1 battle that occurred over seven years ago.

CL may have hinted at a new song coming very soon!

She uploaded the above clip on to her Instagram. She deleted it shortly afterward, but in the clip we do hear a snippet of a song that's in her voice. The song lyrics that are audible are "Let's keep a secret; no one can find out", and it sounds like it's got more of an R&B feel to it than her "Lifted"

Dara compares her popularity in the Philippines to Yoo Jae Suk

Dara talks about her popularity in the Philippines as she appears on the latest episode of KBS variety program, Battle Trip.

Although popular in South Korea as a member of 2NE1, Dara considered Philippines as her second home. In Battle Trip, Dara, who lived in the country for more than ten years, introduced unique destinations and authentic holiday experiences.

In the highlight, the singer and entertainer even showed her determination for her trip and reportedly changed twelve times in a day.

Meanwhile, when asked about popularity in the country, Dara was asked if she was as famous as comedian Lee Hwi Jae. To this, she wittingly responds with, “They know me as much as Yoo Jae Suk,” erupting laughter in the studio.
It is known that prior to her debut with 2NE1, Dara was an all-around entertainer and gained a lot of following in the Philippines after placing runner-up for a talent reality program back in 2004. Recently, she returned to the country to be a brand ambassador for clothing brand, Penshoppe, and was also selected as judge for an upcoming talent reality program.

The Top 15 K-pop Girl Groups over the past 20 years

#1 Girls' GenerationHigh album sales are usually reserved for boy groups but these girls routinely top album charts. Ever since their debut, the girls have found their way into the hearts of fans all across the globe. They're one of the prominent figures of the Hallyu Wave and draw a large crowd wherever they go. Girls' Generation is the standard where all other girl groups are measured against. They are the #1 girl group over the past 20 years and received 55.7% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#2 Fin.K.L
Fine Killing Liberty was one of the "original" idol girl groups and a defining one of the era. They burst on the Korean music scene in 1998 and were known for their soulful ballads while mixing in more traditional pop and gradually morphing into a more mature group. Their success helped create the blueprint for today's idol groups. They received 18.7% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#3 S.E.S
SM's original girl group. If you haven't heard of S.E.S. – Sea (Bada), Eugene, Shoo –then you're unaware of one of the most important groups in K-pop history. It's been nearly 20 years since they debuted and their impact can still be felt today. These girls are the OG girl group of K-pop. They received 17.8% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#4 Wonder Girls
Girls groups weren't that popular after the initial OG (S.E.S) girl group era ended but that all changed in 2007 when the lovely Wonder Girls unleashed "Tell Me" and took Korea over by storm. They followed that up with "Nobody," which was a mega-hit and even toured with the Jonas Brothers in the United States. They received 17.3% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#5 BoA
She's nicknamed "Queen" and for good reason. She's consistently demolished the charts with every new release. Her fan base is global, and her reputation is legendary, for BoA was Korea's first true Hallyu pop star. She broke down many barriers for Korean artists in Japan and routinely became a million seller. She received 14.3% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#6 IU
Technically not a "girl group" but Sports Donga included solo artists as the panelists chose the artists. She's a national treasure and earned the nickname "Nation's Little Sister." She received 11.9% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#7 2NE1
Where art thou, oh 2NE1... they haven't released music in forever. Their impact was still great on the music landscape as they set K-pop on fire with a hot debut. They brought a lot of attitude and were seen as cool. They had the biggest potential to break out in the West but you know what they say about that, potential is nothing, execution is everything. Unfortunately, they've been MIA for a while and Minzy left the group earlier this year. They received 9.3% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#8 TWICE
Well... that was fast. Some of the groups on this list have been around since some of you were even born but TWICE is on this list and they haven't even celebrated their 1 year anniversary yet! It's a testament to their surging popularity. Let's see what else they have in store for us! They received 7.7% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#9 SISTAR
You know you're successful when your unit group's dance practice video racks up millions of views and that's exactly what happened to SISTAR with SISTAR19's "Ma Boy." They have enjoyed much success on the digital charts with #1's release after release. They received 7% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#10 G-Friend
Despite being from a small company, these girls have quickly risen to become one of the most popular girl groups in all of K-pop. In a way, their rise is like a female version of BTS' rise in popularity. Everything they touch these days seem to turn to gold and they've enjoyed perfect all-kills, an achievement that is hard to achieve. They received 5.9% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#11 A-Pink
The girls have enjoyed a steady climb in popularity after winning the "Rookie of the Year" award at the 1st Gaon Chart Awards. At one point, people put them on par with Girls' Generation and 2NE1. A refreshing innocent girl group in a sea of sexy groups. They received 3.3% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#12 AOA
These girls are versatile as they can portray a sexy image and an innocent one as well. They've topped numerous charts and won many times on music shows. They received 2.1% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#13 KARA
Another group that has disbanded. They achieved superstardom when they expanded into Japan. For the early 2010's, TVXQ was the only foreign group that could rival their sales numbers in Japan. The girls broke many records for a foreign girl group in Japan and won numerous awards. It's a shame that they disbanded and if they never did, they would most likely be much higher on this list. They received 1.6% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#14 4minute
They've disbanded but they were one of the most popular girl groups in K-pop history during their prime. It's a shame their popularity slowly declined over the years. They received 1.3% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

#15 f(x)
I think they could've been higher on this list if they had more of a push from SM. The girls are quite popular but they could've been even bigger and it's a shame that they're not. Sulli left the group in 2015 to focus more on her acting career. They received 1.1% of the total vote from panelists surveyed.

Dara is saying farewell to the hit JTBC show “Sugar Man,” which she hosted alongside Yoo Jae Suk, Yoo Hee Yeol, and Kim Ea Na.

On June 22, Sandara Park posted photos to her Instagram of herself holding up a banner. The banner features her catchphrase from the show, “Everyone, we’re so glad you came today.” She writes as the caption to one photo in Korean, “Sugar Man.. I’m so glad you came into my life. I was so happy~ Thank you ㅠ.ㅠ See you again!!! ^_^.” She adds in English, “Good bye Sugarman.”

“Sugar Man” is a performance competition show that features popular musicians covering classic hits by artists that have disappeared from the limelight. The original artists (or “Sugar Men”) are also invited on the show to perform and talk about what they’ve been up to in the years since their heyday.

Although the show was a hit, the producers recently decided to end its run, partially because they began to run out of candidates to appear as the “Sugar Men” and also because it was only intended to be a short-term project show. Their last filming was on June 22, and the final episode is slated to air in early July.

Dara is well-known for her youthful beauty, and even after reaching the age of 30, continues to retain it.

On an online community board, fans pointed out her everlasting visuals as they posted a series of image captures from the girl group’s reality television show that first aired following their debut in 2009. Titled 2NE1 TV, the image captures features Sandara during the show’s second season, recording herself in a car as she speaks to viewers with a, “Hello, good morning. Looking as if she was still in her teenage years, fans were surprised to find out that she is in fact about 26-years old in the image captures. Currently at 31-years old, Sandara’s beauty definitely has matured a bit while still retaining her youthful look from her debut days.

Meanwhile, it was last reported by YG Entertainment that the 2NE1 would be making a comeback this summer, though further details have not yet been released. Dara reveals having many suitors

Asian superstar Sandara Park did not bat an eyelash when asked about her love life.

In an exclusive interview with Push after her press conference for local clothing brand Penshoppe, Sandara admitted that she does have a number of suitors.

Pero hindi pa ako sumagot kasi siguro feeling ko gusto ko munang mag-work and concentrate muna, (I can't say yes, because I need to work and concentrate first.)” she explained.

It seems though that the Pambansang Krung Krung is not closing her doors on love.

“I can’t promise na hindi ako magkaka-love life kasi if one day nandiyan ‘yung prince charming ko, hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin ko,”(I can't promise that I won't fall in love, because if one day, my prince charming will show up, I don't know what to do.) she said. “Baka sabihin ko sa Instagram ‘Uy may boyfriend ako!’ Hindi ko rin alam. (I might reveal it on Instagram saying "I have a boyfriend! I really don't know.)

Last year, Sandara was rumored to be dating My Love From The Star actor Kim Soo-hyun after they were reportedly spotted having dinner together.

While she remains to be single, Sandara is very close to a number of boys under her management label YG Entertainment. Just last year, Sandara’s closeness with them made headlines after she posted photos of her with boy group iKON and rap trio Epik High.

“Nakakatuwa kasi ako ‘yung Ate pero feeling nila sila ang Kuya,” (It's so funny because I am older than them (noona), but they felt that they are older than me (oppa) shared the 31-year-old star.

She continued, “So parang nakakatawa  ‘yung mga relationship ko with the boys. Ngayon nakakalungkot kasi sobrang busy sila. Meron silang tour all over the world so parang hindi kami nagkikita. (It seems that we have a fun relationship. It's so sad that they have been so busy lately. They have a tour all over the world so we just rarely see each other.)

However, Sandara admitted that they do get in touch even if they are miles apart.

“Yes naman. Kapag may birthday, happy birthday ganyan, (We keep in touch specially if it's a birthday, we greet each other.)” she said.

After her official events with the clothing brand, Sandara spent some down time in Tagaytay and a theme park in Laguna.

Dara left the country on Monday evening and even took her message to her fans on her Instagram account.
