Moments before the release of Don't Cry, the anticipation had built-up to intense levels. Though we tried to distract ourselves, many were playing with the Adidas Originals' music video maker, it was still a long wait. While we were eargerly anticipating, YGE was busy uploading the new music video for Park Bom's second solo single, Don't Cry.
It seems as though YGE, is attempting to shed its image as a company without timeliness. Over the last few releases they have been surprisingly on time. YGE continues this trend with the timely release of the Don't Cry MV and digital single.

The MV is very mysterious and ethereal..giving off a dream-like feeling. Did anyone else get reminded of Bom's scene in the Fire (Space) MV:
The song and video convey the story of woman getting over a lost love. The lyrics seem to be "Bom" echoing the husbands sentiments, particularly the chorus, since Bom is the one crying "It's okay baby please don't cry, This long journey is about to end. But someday, we will meet again, In the next life, we will see each other again." Check out the Full Lyrics HERE!
Anyone else see the parallels with You and I (her first solo single?).
A couple notes on the styling. Bom looks gorgeous in the video. Both dresses are fairy-like and really fit the dreamy mood of the song andBom's ladylike demeanor. It's not the ultra-sexy, short dresses we are used to; but more elegant and understated sexiness.
One area the stylist could have changed are Bom's bangs. The overly full bangs contrast somewhat strangly with the more flat parts of the crown of the her hair. Her bangs are a teeny tiny bit distracting in an otherwise flawless look.

Don't Cry Explodes onto the Real-Time Charts
YG's genius move of releaseing the video at the same exact time as the digital single has propelled the song into the stratospheres. Even the most diehard of Bombshells likely had no idea just how fast this song would reach the top.

Although we Blackjacks have come to expect success, given the intense competition, there were no guarantees Don't Cry would be a chart topper. However, our very own Lady Spring has reached number one on most of the major online real-time charts. Not only that sheDEBUTED at #1 on Soribada and MNET real-time charts.

Granted this is just real-time charts which fluctuate wildly. However, the speed with which she reached #1 on SO MANY charts is astounding.In less than an hour from its release Don't Cry was #1 on Soribada. That is simply amazing. Moreover, the variety of charts where she is #1 shows a UNIVERSAL appeal that is fairly rare these days.
Park Bom is now #1 on every major online music portal in S Korea except Cyworldand Bugs. Its only a matter of time before she has a TRUE all-kill (meaning #1 on EVERY major online chart) for Don't Cry.
It is extremely likely she will be #1 on the daily charts today. Considering the unique and interesting nature of the song, as well as how compelling it is relative to alot of the idol songs on the charts...Don't Cry could match or even exceed the success of You and I.
