YG Entertainment‘s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk spoke out against potential rumors of a member change in 2NE1.
He revealed that a member change in 2NE1 will never happen and the
members will remain permanently. Clearing up recent rumors and
misunderstandings that generated after the ‘Future 2NE1′ video was revealed.
On July 2nd, Yang Hyun Suk told Star News, “After the video,
‘Future 2NE1′ was released, a few fans were worried that the girls in
the video were going to be new members of 2NE1 but that is not going to
happen.” He then added, “‘Future 2NE1′ means that the girls are going to become a great girl group in the mold of their 2NE1 unnies.”
Yang Hyun Suk reassured, ”2NE1 is going to continue to be CL, Dara, Park Bom, and Minzy. There will never be a member change in 2NE1 so fans shouldn’t misunderstand or be worried.”
He also added, “The 12, 13 year old girls who are in the video
are going to debut 4 years from now. They are not the new girl group
that YG is going to debut in the second half of this year.”
Recently, a video titled, ‘Future 2NE1 (4 years later) was ‘released through their yg-life website,
with the subtitle stating, ‘ages 12 & 13′. In the video, you can
see four girls who are in their early teens, revealing their top-notch
skills in singing and dancing.
Shortly after, despite the explanation provided by Star News, there
were still misunderstandings of these girls becoming a part of 2NE1.
However, with this interview, Yang Hyun Suk re-enforced that 2NE1
members will permanently remain the same way and continue with their
activities.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 will be releasing their digital single “I Love You”
on July 5th, officially announcing their comeback. And on the 8th, the
girls are scheduled to make their first comeback stage through SBS ‘s ‘Inkigayo‘.
