2NE1 gets listed on MTV Style’s ‘Top 12 Girls to Watch in 2012′ list!

The ladies of 2NE1 were recently included on MTV STYLE‘s fashion list, ‘Top 12 Girls to Watch in 2012‘.

On January 2nd, MTV STYLE posted an article that pointed out 2NE1 as one of the rising fashionistas of the world. “We’re keeping our eyes glided on 2NE1 as the new year progresses, namely because of their bestie collab status with our beloved Jeremy Scott and their enviable collection of high-drama streetcar like JoyRich,” the author writes.

2NE1 has already impressed the international music community with their win as MTV Iggy‘s ‘Best New Band in the World‘, and now it looks like they’re well on their way to sweeping hearts in the fashion world as well.

In related news, 2NE1 will participate in the ‘15th Anniversary YG Family Concert‘ at the Osaka Kyocera Dome on January 7th and 8th, and at the Saitama Super Arena on the 21st and 22nd.

Sean treats 2NE1′s Minzy and Dara to a nice dinner!

Singer Sean has treated his YG siblings,  Sandara and Minzy, to a nice dinner.

On January 3rd, Sean tweeted, “I am buying 2NE1′s adorable Minzy and Sandara a nice dinner. Salad, spinach pizza, baby octopus pasta, nurungji risotto, and warm ice cream as well as sweet pancakes as big as a pizza pie for dessert! CL & Bom couldn’t come because they were too busy… they missed out.”

Minzy thanked her senior by replying, “It was so delicious today. We ate really well. Jjang.”

Fans were happy to see that the labelmates enjoyed a good relationship, despite the years between them. They commented, “Really jealous. Heartwarming” and “Hope all the members can eat together next time!”

In related news, the YG Entertainment artists will be performing their ‘YG Family Concert’ at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome on January 7th and 8th.

Upcoming YG Family Japanese concert tour estimated to bring in over $26 million USD!

YG Entertainment will most likely rake in a revenue of over $26,000,000 USD after performing in two cities in Japan.

The artists of YG Entertainment are currently in preparations of the Japanese portion of their ‘YG 15th Anniversary Family Concert‘ tour, and they will be performing in front of 80,000 fans over the course of two shows (7th & 8th) at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, as well as 80,000 more fans at the Super Arena in Saitama.

Each ticket sold for over $160, and ticket sales from their Japanese shows alone will most likely be over $26,000,000. This of course, doesn’t include the revenue they will also bring in from the concert merchandise.

This is the result of building YG awareness in Japan for the past 7 years, beginning with singer Se7en‘s Japanese debut in 2005. This is the first time in six years YG is putting on a family concert in Japan. The last was held back in August of 2006, when they sold out both performances in Tokyo and Osaka.

This family concert tour is especially meaningful, as it is the first after the establishment of ‘YGEX‘ in conjunction with Japanese record label AVEX. And although it is the first family concert in six years, it was obvious that the fans’ love and support for the YG Entertainment has only grown since.

Ahead of their Japanese performances, the YG artists completed their national shows at Olympic Stadium in Seoul with performances by Jinusean, Gummy, Big Bang, Se7en, 2NE1, as well as the newer family members Psy and Tablo. The performances were met with an explosive reaction from fans.

The YG artists wrapped up their rehearsals on the 2nd, and will be heading over to Japan.

Sandara Park and Park Bom Released From YG's Dating Ban?

Sandara Park is overjoyed this year--she is absolutely free to date whoever she wants this year! Park Bom, who is also the same age as Sandara, is also free from the dating ban that was in their contract with YG.

She posted on her Me2Day saying, "Today's new years! 99% of the texts that I received from my friends and acquaintances were, 'I hope you get a cool boyfriend this year,' and 'Have a wonderful love this year!' It seems that people around me are more worried than I am about getting a boyfriend! As promised by YG CEO, we are free to date starting this year! Woot! Anyways, everyone, have a blessed new year! I want to become cuter this year!"

She continued, "Age does not matter for us anymore! Cuter! More fun and entertaining! Fighting!"

She also upload a picture along with her post. She's seen wearing a bright hot pink T-shirt, along with cutesy makeup and a long wavy brown hairstyle. 

The netizens that saw this post commented, "Big congratulations on your dating ban being over!" "I hope you meet a nice/cool boyfriend this year," and "You're plenty cute right now, I wonder how you'll become even cuter.. I'm curious."

On the other hand, 2NE1 won the "Rookie Award" on Japan's TBS "Record Grand Awards."

Dara wants to be in a romantic comedy?

Sandara Park is bursting with excitement over her upcoming CF for cosmetics brand Etude.

On January 3rd, Dara posted a picture through her me2day and cackled, “Ahaha HA HA! I just saw the new Etude advertisement ahead of time…! kekeke I burst out with laughter! Fresh+Cute+Comical = Dara! Ahh… It’s fun ^_^ Aw, I really think I would do well in a romantic comedy! Right? Please look forward to this commercial, too~!^^”

It’s easy to see why the ad caused Dara to crack up, as her face was powdered a ghostly white for the CF.

2NE1 met with a terminal cancer patient in New York!

It’s just been revealed that 2NE1 met with a terminal cancer patient during their stay in New York for their MTV Iggy performance.

On January 3rd, YG Entertainment revealed, “After their performance in Times Square on December 13th, 2NE1 visited a fan at a hospice ward to lend him their support. The patient has been a fan of 2NE1′s ever since their debut and watched their concert through tickets bought by the hospital. He’s been enduring his intense treatments with the hope of seeing 2NE1.” 

The hospital suggested the meeting with 2NE1 and the girls readily agreed. 2NE1 was reported to have been very touched upon hearing that he was their fan and thanked him for making the long trip to see them performance.

The meeting was also covered in a local newspaper with the title, “Patient Gets Wish To See Favorite Band”.

Dara’s Special New Year’s Resolution!

In celebration of a brand-new year, Sandara Park subtly shared her New Year’s resolution with her fans.

On December 31st, Dara shared some interesting and personal facts about herself on her me2day page. She wrote, “I finally got over my terrible phobia of flying on airplanes! After being on the plane so many times because of all our international activities this year, I realized I’m comfortable with flying now! From now on, I can work in better condition! Goodbye 2011!”

Then, in the end, Dara added, “Now, is it time for me to get over my fear of men?”

After reading this, fans began to wonder about Dara’s intention behind the last sentence she wrote. Curious fans left comments and questions regarding Dara’s future love life, such as, “Does this mean she’s ready or allowed to date?”
